Old Business:

A.            Bill Carrier.  Mike attended the Memorial Services and reported that they were very good.  Board discussed appropriate gesture in case of passing.  It was decided that for former Board member or members who had made significant contributions to the Chapter, a memorial gesture was appropriate.  In the case, Board voted to donate $50 to Hospice.

B.            Speaker Gifts.  Tom said he was going to be passing through USNA this month and would find a source and return with some speaker gifts worthy of our Chapter.  Board discussed situation where speaker obviously has all the USNA materials they would need, such as our April speaker.  Board voted to purchase a $50 gift certificate for these speakers.  Mike to obtain one from Outback for this event.

 

New Business:

A.            April Event.  The next Event is scheduled for April 16, 2004 @ UNF.  Adm. Stravardis, COMCRUDESGRU 12, to speak.  Advanced reservations are very disappointing as of Board meeting.  It was decided to re-send the e-mail flyer with personal note from Chapter President and for Secretary to contact Dave Ward for (1) assistance in hyping the event and (2) a request that he pass the information about the event to Jean Ritchie, a resident but not on our mailing list.

B.            Summer Event.  Board following up on suggestion to attend the Suns baseball at the new park.  Bill Farnsworth to check on group rates and possibility of catering.  Mike DeVaux to check with employee who recently did group w/catering.

C.            Army Founders Day Event.  Mike B. attended and stated it was a great event.  USMA Commandant of Cadets in attendance.  Held at Casa Monica in St. Augustine.

D.            Recruiting Update.  Board discussed proper disposition of resumes received from USNA graduates and again affirmed the existing policy that Chapter will forward received resumes to the Chapter e-mail list only.
