Old Business:
A. Website Name Change: Underway. Expect 45 days for approval and implementation.
B. October Events. 1800 @ University Center, UNF, 10/18/02. Brett reported reservations for 41 thus far. E-mail notice to go out one last time, listing last day to register as 10/15/02. Brett to call Bill F. with guaranteed count by food selection mid-day of 10/15. Brett will provide list of attendees to Bill F. for inclusion in Shipmate article.
New Business:
A. Founder’s Day. At request of USNAAA, Chapter asked to plan to push celebration of this anniversary in October of each year. Board agreed to plan event around it and to otherwise push recognition.
B. December Event: Dave Ward reported that Fleet Landing has been booked for 12/6/02 with cash bar @ 6:00 p.m. and dinner @ 7:00 p.m. Mike Borns to work on nailing down speaker. Suggestions included President of J.U., Adm. Dave Harlow, USN retired or Mayor John Delaney. This flyer to be produced by Bill F. and Tom B. and will be mailed by USNAAA. Flyer needs to be in USNAAA hands by 11/1/02.
C. Golf Tournament. On track for Tuesday, December 3, 2002 @ NAS, Jax
D. Membership Dues. At request of Brett, Board discussed whole subject of dues. It was decided that dues would continue to be required annually, that dues received prior to 12/1/xx would be applied to that year and dues received on or after 12/1/xx would be applied to the following calendar year. Additionally, it was decided that the flyer for the December Event, which is being mailed by USNAAA to the greater Jacksonville Alumni data base, would include both a statement of the dues policy and a form for paying Chapter dues for 2003.
E. South East Regional Coordinator for USNAAA Foundation. Mike briefed the Board on his introductory conversations with this individual recently. The Foundation is cranking up an organization to solicit contributions.
